This event is for all levels of knowledge around nonprofit financial best practices and common financial tools, such as an income statement or a 990. Attendees will leave with an overall understanding of how to read basic financial statements of a nonprofit organization. They will also come away with some soft-skills around how to apply knowledge or have conversations around finances in their own nonprofit.
Dr. Carol Ebdon, a professor at UNO, will kick the event off with an overview of nonprofit basics to get the event started. Attendees will then break into smaller groups for a workshop style environment, each hosted by a nonprofit financial expert. The small groups will feature a recent financial statement from a nonprofit to help the attendees gain a full understanding and better relate that information. Everyone will come back together for a panel-style discussion with the nonprofit financial experts that will allow attendees to ask broader questions and learn how to apply their newly acquired hard skills to real-life situations that may come up in their own nonprofit.
Registration is limited to 40 attendees. Be sure to reserve your spot right away!
